Design & Project Management Samples

Here are my work samples from previous projects, clients, and employers. I’ve replaced some info to retain client & employer confidentiality. Content here was created or owned by me.

Enemy Design & Combat

Giant NPC

Project: No More Giants
Work:
I designed a giant world NPC for a 3D world

  • Here was my process:

    • Review roadmap to see how this effects project scope

    • Detail goals for the NPC in the GDD

    • Create a basic 3D “blockout” in Blender

    • Scope out deliverables: 3D model, animation, and texturing

    • Hire a 3D artist on Upwork, share deliverables

    • Oversee production of deliverables

    • Review deliverables on the due date

    • Package 3D model and animation into FBX for easy-import to Unity

Little Bird Search Mechanic

Project: No More Giants
Work:
I designed a helicopter search mechanic

  • Here was my process:

    • Recall details in milestone for “enemy mechanics “

    • Estimate task size. This involved heavy work from art & programming =>large task

    • Review options for minimizing costs (online Asset Stores)

    • Minimize artist workload by choosing retexture > asset creation

    • Scope out deliverables: spotlight mechanic & helicopter waypoints

    • Hire a programmer on Upwork

    • Share project via GitHub repo

    • Oversee production of deliverables

    • Collaborate with programmer to adjust mechanic until it reflects initial vision

Enemy Behaviours

Project: No More Giants
Work:
I designed an enemy challenge mechanic

  • Here was my process:

    • Inform 3D artist of an incoming task

    • Organize necessary details & references

    • Create list of deliverables for 3D artist

    • Oversee production of deliverables

    • Review deliverables on due date

    • Work alongside the artist to adjust the animations to achieve vision.

Mechanic Design

Card Flip Mechanic

Project: AI Cards
Work:
I designed & built a card-flipping mechanic that showcased unique art & managed anims.

  • I created the main mechanic in my game called AI Cards. Here were my general guidelines for creation:

    • Flip card on player click & set max amount of cards that can be flipped at once

    • Manage animation states based on player interaction with card

    • Check the flipped cards for matching or mismatching identifiers

SCRUM & Project Management

Agile Project Management

Topic: Team Management
Work:
I built & managed an ongoing scrum board to guide over 50 marketing initiatives.

  • I utilized the kanban framework within Asana to plan and guide my team’s progress towards our creation goals. The team consisted of a designer, writer, researcher, and myself. Maintaining the board was critical to help understand where we stood in our progression towards the current sprint goal. I supplemented this with:

    • Leading daily standups to review blockers

    • Posting regular team announcements

    • Guiding sprint creation & takeaways

Sprint goals were influenced by milestones communicated by the executive team. I was responsible for producing for our milestones and enabling the team to maintain high velocity.

I have done this work for both employers & as an advisor/contractor, overseeing the activities in both contexts.

Expense Tracker

Topic: Financial Planning & Budgeting
Work:
I created a comprehensive expense tracker that was useful in providing stakeholders updates.

  • The most common way to obtain updates on campaign expenses was to use the expense tracker I built:

    • Tracked paid campaign expenses (excluding personnel)

    • Enabled linked ROI calculations (for evaluating channels)

*Note: If you’d like to see the expense tracker in more detail, here is a link to the Google Sheet.

Deployed 50+ Campaigns

Topic: Digital Campaign Creation
Work:
I oversaw several marketing campaigns from concept to deployment

  • As a Marketing Analyst & Project Manager at 3DEO, I played a key role in shaping content strategy. My insights empowered stakeholders with knowledge about content opportunities to enhance our brand & traction in the market, leading me to spearhead various content production efforts.

    My responsibilities included:
    - Oversee all marketing team projects via PM processes (Asana)
    - Design campaign proposal plans to be greenlit by executives, executed by content team
    - Benchmark & optimize channel performance by retooling lead hand off times, LP content, and cohesive funnel messaging.

One of our defining campaigns was “Part Breaker.” This campaign stood out as a cornerstone, because it incorporated much of what we learned about the 3D market and enabled us to communicate our message with profound impact. Given the industry’s reputation for weak metal 3D parts (vs. the alternative CNC parts), Part Breaker challenged that narrative. We provided an open invitation to 15,000 engineers to test the durability in creative ways, debunking misconceptions and reshaping perceptions about our capabilities. Some customer submissions included using trains & explosives in a controlled environment to try breaking the parts.

    Submissions:
    Explosives
    Earned media

Economy Game Currency

Project: Pachinko!!
Work:
I designed & built a mobile game mechanic that enables earning of play money via pin-hitting.

Player Kinetic Abilities

Project: No More Giants
Work:
I designed & built a set of kinetic abilities that allow the player to solve puzzles & obstacles.
